Sorry fellow companions but I had to do it. (I know street racing is bad) Anyways Just had a sick race with a ZO6 385hp edition on the I-75 (Florida) I was minding my own business, and this ZO6 pulls next to me, and it was two younger kids driving daddy's car. I assume they got out early from highschool (remember those days?) I graduated in 93 so its been a while. Anyways they keep going back and fourth reving the engine, keep in mind that I'm in 5th gear doing 75is. So I go ahead and say what the heck!, open road, no traffic, weather is cool let's get it on!!. I drop in to third, and catch them off guard. I hit 110 really quick and I pulled on them about 2-3 car lenths. They start creeping on me really fast reaching half-way my passenger door (BOOM!)I shift the might 4th gear. I get about 2 cars ahead of him and im at around 140-145mph. Then I slow down cause my exit was coming up plus thats a little to fast, but to my surprise I just felt the Z was just asking for more! Thats when my self control kicked in. Maybe it was inexperience by the kids, maybe they got afraid of the high speed they were approaching, but bottom line is that Im not afraid of stock C-5 or ZO6 (keep in mind that I said stock) Once I start getting more mods done... BEWARE LSI Engines and any other V-8. Sorry it was so long, but I wanted to get every detail in there.
